Memory Care Partner Process

Memory care is not something people just “know.” It must be learned and practiced.

That is why we invest heavily in training, so our team has competent confidence. 

When caregivers are taught how to respond with patience, structure, and calm routines, daily moments feel easier. Trust grows. Frustration decreases. Days feel more peaceful for everyone involved.

Our memory care training program is designed specifically for real life at home. It focuses on understanding behavior, using simple routines, and supporting each person with dignity and respect.

Over the years, this approach has helped many families feel more supported, less overwhelmed, and more confident in the care their loved one receives.

Every new caregiver at Pansy Homecare begins their journey with our two-day immersive orientation. This essential session goes beyond basic training to equip you with the Competent Confidence needed to deliver exceptional memory care.

We focus on a person-centered, activity-based approach, combining classroom learning with hands-on practice for real-life situations. Our orientation will provide you with a deep understanding of how memory changes affect daily life, covering vital topics such as:

Our comprehensive program equips our team with advanced techniques to better understand the person they are supporting, including their experience, their needs, and how to improve their quality of life every day.

Hours: 12 hours In Person / 3 hours virtual

  • Annual ongoing training and refreshers are required to ensure our team stays at the forefront of person-centered care best practices

Before a memory care partner begins working with a client, they complete a one-on-one client-specific orientation with a member of our care team.

This step helps caregivers feel prepared and confident before the first day in the home.

The goal is to understand:

  • who the person is
  • what matters to them
  • and how to support them in a calm and respectful way
  • Tools for redirecting
